Finding Long-lasting Stability 47 Last year, staff worked with 47 families as they moved into homeownership, helping them continue on a path to long-lasting stability. Planning for Bright Futures 92% 92% of teens engaged in future and post-secondary school planning through the Teen Programs. Affordable housing nonprofit work in Ramsey, MN Sunwood Village is a 47-unit family affordable housing property in Ramsey, Minnesota that is part of a major community development effort to bring jobs, expand the regional economy, and provide access to parks, trails, shopping, and the Northstar Rail. It offers a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Sunwood Village is reserved for households earning 30% to 60% of the area median income. Learn More Brewery Point CommonBond developed the first senior community in Milwaukee’s Pabst Brewery redevelopment area, which has become Milwaukee’s newest sustainable historic neighborhood. The redevelopment of the former Pabst Brewery Company includes two major university centers, offices, apartments, a hotel, and restaurants. Located in the central business district, Brewery Point provides seniors aged 55 and older with affordable homes that feature panoramic views of downtown Milwaukee. Learn More Supportive Housing Lexington Commons is designed for single adults who meet the state definition of long-term homelessness, and single adults who meet the federal definition of chronic homelessness. It features 48 efficiency apartments. An adaptive reuse of a former nursing home built in the 1960s, Lexington Commons was designed to achieve LEED certification. Learn More Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH) The purchase of Boulder Ridge affordable housing property in MN i s the first of many in CommonBond’s deliberate effort to counter the loss of affordable housing options. Boulder Ridge was the first naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH) acquisition through our CommonBond Housing Opportunity Fund. It provides affordable housing for those with low to moderate incomes. Learn More Urban Redevelopment in Minneapolis The Cooperage is a new construction project in Minneapolis that provides 60 units of housing for seniors ages 62 and older. Conveniently located within ¼ mile of a Central Corridor Light Rail Transit stop, it’s also connected to trails. This is CommonBond’s first project to feature solar panels. It’s also one of the first two mixed-financing HUD 202 projects in Minnesota. Learn More HUD-subsidized/Urban Redevelopment Glenbrook Apartments CommonBond Communities and Bishop’s Creek CDC collaborated to preserve Glenbrook Apartments, located in a high-priority revitalization area near the former Northridge Mall in Milwaukee, WI. The effort revitalized 72 large apartment homes for families, providing significant investment to modernize and increase long-term sustainability of this important housing resource. As part of the renovation, a new Advantage Center community building was added to provide programs and services that support resident success.
